SANTA ANA : ‘Latinas’ Conference Scheduled Today
The Mexican American National Women’s Assn. is sponsoring a conference for high school girls from the Santa Ana Unified School District today at Rancho Santiago College.
The title of the conference is “Latinas: Leaders of the Future,” and it will feature speakers and exhibitors.
About 150 girls are expected to attend. The group sponsors an “Hermanitas” or little sisters, program, to match professional role models with young women in the school system who are from low-income backgrounds or at risk of dropping out.
The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the college, which is at 17th and Bristol streets.
