In the first round of the Fullerton men’s basketball tournament:

Saddleback 86, South Mountain 77--Keith Ison came off the bench to score 14 second-half points and hand out eight assists to lead Saddleback (2-0). The Gauchos trailed, 41-35, at halftime. Ray Ankton scored 18 points for Saddleback.

In the first round of the Long Beach women’s basketball tournament:

Moorpark 82, Saddleback 72--The Gauchos led by 10 with 12 minutes remaining in the game, but from that point on, Moorpark outscored them, 34-14. Shannon Garnos scored 28 pointsfor Saddleback (2-1).

Orange Coast 52, Pierce 42--Kami Bigler scored 12 points to lead Orange Coast (2-0).

At the Golden West women’s basketball tournament:

Golden West 123, Victor Valley 81--Each of the eight Golden West players scored at least 10 points. Dawn Haag had 22 points to lead Golden West (2-0).
