For Better Living Inc.: The San Juan Capistrano building-products maker and magazine publisher posted net income of $610,000 for the third quarter, up 75% from the $348,000 reported for the 1989 third quarter. Sales rose 6%, to $23.8 million from $22.5 million. Net income for the first nine months of the year totaled $945,000, 59% higher than the $596,000 posted for the comparable three quarters in 1989. Sales declined 4%, to $62.2 million from $64.5 million.
