Boy, 3, Finds Gun Left in Motor Home, Shoots Himself
Associated Press
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 3-year-old boy found a loaded gun in his grandfather’s motor home and shot himself, authorities said. He was in critical condition Friday.
David Riggs shot himself on the right side below his rib cage on Thanksgiving, said Jacksonville Sheriff’s Lt. D. G. Gueterman.
The owner of the gun, a friend of the boy’s grandfather, could be charged with a felony for leaving the handgun where the child could find it.
