Former child actor Gary Coleman, the star of television’s “Diff’rent Strokes” series, has been hospitalized in Arizona with kidney problems, his publicist said today.
“It is anticipated that the actor, who is resting comfortably and in good spirits, will be released from the hospital within a week’s time,” said Coleman spokesman Michael Gerety.
Coleman lives in Tucson, but his exact whereabouts were secret. The publicist wouldn’t reveal the name of the hospital or even the Arizona city where he was bedridden.
The 22-year-old actor was stable and “is expected to make a complete recovery,” Gerety said.
The exact nature of Coleman’s ailment wasn’t revealed, but his publicist said in a statement: “Coleman, the recipient of two kidney transplants, has a longstanding history of renal disease and his hospitalization is related to his kidney condition.”
