Pasadena : Open House at Hospital
Huntington Memorial Hospital will conduct an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday to celebrate completion of its three-story, 220,000-square-foot building at 100 W. California Blvd.
Tours of the $75-million building will include the surgery and labor and delivery rooms. The building includes 13 operating rooms, nurseries, the emergency room, 44 maternity beds, the trauma center, radiology and the hospital’s center for sterilizing equipment. It represents the first part of a four-stage plan to replace four main buildings, some dating back to the 1920s, on the hospital’s 27 acres.
The new building will be connected to older buildings by a pedestrian tunnel and a second-floor bridge. Patients will be moved into the new building in mid-December.
