King, Manley Priorities Come Under Fire
I would like NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue to explain the logical and moral basis upon which he choses to excoriate the voters of Arizona for exercising their constitutional right to self determination on the issue of a Martin Luther King holiday while, at the same time, deciding that it is appropriate for him to kiss and make up with three-time drug offender Dexter Manley by lifting his justly imposed ban from football.
Manley will receive a $180,000 paycheck despite his misdeeds, while the people of Arizona may suffer a substantial economic penalty because they lawfully exercised their right and duty as citizens. He can then send his explanation to my 9-year old, who has been taught that voting is good, drugs are wrong and that playing by the rules is important.
