Angels Obtain Outfielder in 3-Player Deal

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Baltimore Orioles today traded outfielder Dave Gallagher to the California Angels for pitchers David Martinez and Mike Hook.
Gallagher, 30, started the 1990 season with the Chicago White Sox and was claimed on waivers by Baltimore on Aug. 2. In 45 games for the Orioles, Gallagher hit .280.
Gallagher is expected to back up newly acquired outfielder Junior Felix in center field.
Martinez, 27, has a career minor-league record of 32-42. He has been placed on the Orioles’ 40-man roster.
Hook, 22, was a combined 6-4 for Quad City and Midland last season. Hook was assigned to Class AAA Rochester of the International League.
