The Sidelines : Kings Bring Up Defensive Help
From Times Wire Services
The Kings recalled defenseman Dennis Smith from their American Hockey league affiliate in New Haven today.
Smith, signed by the Kings as a free agent last July, has five goals, 13 assists and 47 penalty minutes for the Nighthawks this season. He didn’t record a point in four games with the Kings earlier this season.
Kings defenseman Tim Watters, who suffered a twisted knee in Saturday’s game against Vancouver, did not accompany the team for the start of its two-week road trip.
