Mideast Ground War Begins
The allied forces have experienced relatively low casualties to date in the Persian Gulf. Much of this is due to the fact that air supremacy has been achieved. What people forget is the money that was spent during the 1980s in order to develop more sophisticated weapons. Ronald Reagan was and still is lambasted for his military spending, but it is Reagan who needs credit for the high-tech equipment that is saving lives of American men and women in this war. The military buildup that was supposed to diminish as a result of the “end of the Cold War” cannot happen. We live in a world full of Saddam Husseins and can never be too safe from psychotic fools trying to feed their egos.
