Mideast Ground War Begins

Why are people puzzled by the meaning of our President’s shibboleth of the year (“Bush’s Vision of a ‘New World Order’ Still Unclear,” Part A, Feb. 18)?
Obviously, it tells the nations of the world that as of last August they’ll be taking their orders from George Bush. And if anyone has the gall to defy the “new world’s” self-proclaimed leader, let the hell-fire and brimstone Bush has unleashed on Iraq be an example of any such impudence.
Meanwhile, here at home one wonders who’s minding the store. We only have to look at the condition our country’s in to know our President isn’t. When he’s got the whole wide world in his hands, he can’t be bothered by niggling domestic problems now, can he?
