A number of events that are open to the public will precede Sunday’s 26.2-mile race through the streets of Los Angeles.
Wednesday-Saturday
Los Angeles Marathon Health and Fitness Exposition--A free expo featuring more than 130 exhibitors promoting goods and services relating to a healthy and fit lifestyle, Los Angeles Hyatt, 6255 W. Century Blvd., noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Saturday
Vons Carbo-Load Dinner--Shrine Exposition Hall, 665 W. Jefferson Blvd., 5 and 7 p.m. seatings. Cost of pasta, entertainment and dancing is $10.
Sunday
Wheelchair Marathon--Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, adjacent to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, 8:35 a.m. Entry is $35 per person; registration deadline is Saturday.
Race-Walking Division--Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, 8:45 a.m. Entry is $35 per person; deadline is Saturday.
Runner Division--Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, 9:05 a.m. Entry is $35 per person; deadline is Saturday.
5K Marathon--33rd and Figueroa streets, 9:30 a.m. Entry is $10 per person; deadline is Saturday.
Finish Line Festival--In front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and features entertainment from KIIS-FM radio, giveaways, food and displays from 40 companies.
