War IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : Judge Delays Ruling on War Dead Arrival

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth refused to immediately issue a temporary injunction directing the military to allow the news media to photograph coffins of Persian Gulf War dead as they are returned to the United States. Lamberth said he does not consider the government’s refusal to allow media coverage of the war dead arrivals at Dover Air Force Base, Del., to be “improper or irrational.” He said he will hear arguments next week on a preliminary injunction.
