GIRLS’ SOCCER PLAYOFFS : Los Alamitos Travels to El Toro to Face the Defending Champions

Los Alamitos, the only unseeded team remaining in the Southern Section Division 4-A girls’ soccer playoffs, faces defending champion and No. 1 seed El Toro at 3 p.m. today in a semifinal game at El Toro.
Playing without leading scorer Julie Harris, a first-team all-division midfielder last season who broke her foot in the Griffins’ final Empire League game, Los Alamitos (21-3-2) has won both of its playoff games, 1-0.
El Toro (27-0-2), which has outscored its two playoff opponents, 13-0, is led by Shawn Viloria, who was the Division 4-A offensive player of the year last season. Viloria has 38 goals and 22 assists this season.
Simi Valley (23-2-1) at Mater Dei (23-3-2)--The No. 2-seeded Monarchs, who have won four consecutive Angelus League championships and won the Division 3-A title last season, play host to No. 3-seeded Simi Valley.
Mater Dei defeated Esperanza and Marina, 2-0, in its first two playoff games. Simi Valley, the Marmonte League champions, defeated St. Lucy’s, 1-0, and Mission Viejo, 3-0.
