Pittsburgh Athletic Director Ed Bozik, whose department is the subject of investigations into booster funds and recruiting practices, will retire on July 1.

Bozik told the school’s board of trustees he was retiring to “honor a longstanding commitment to my wife and children.”

Allegheny County prosecutors, at the request of university officials, are investigating the Golden Panthers booster club and $52,700 in funds that can’t be accounted for.
