ANAHEIM : Boy, 8, Is Killed in Traffic Accident

An 8-year-old Anaheim boy was killed Tuesday afternoon when he sprinted into the path of an oncoming sports car and was struck, police said.
Paramedics treated the boy, Steven Anthony Rodriguez, at the scene and took him to Anaheim Memorial Hospital, where he died, police said.
The incident occurred at 4:35 p.m. in the intersection of Citron Street and Bywood Avenue, police said. Steven had apparently run between two parked cars and out into the intersection, police said.
The driver had been traveling between 15 and 20 m.p.h. at the time, police said. The boy became lodged under the car and was dragged about 40 feet, they said.
