HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL GIRLS’ STATE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS : DIVISION IV

Santa Maria St. Joseph 62, Morro Bay 36--The Knights won their second consecutive Southern Regional title by romping past a club they defeated for the Southern Section title last week. St. Joseph plays Northern champion San Rafael Saturday in Oakland.
St. Joseph (26-5) was in control from the outset and took a 24-point advantage into intermission. Morro Bay (26-4) never got closer than 22 points thereafter.
DIVISION V
El Cajon Christian 62, Mission Prep 51--The Patriots (22-4) broke open a close contest with a 10-2 game-ending run. Christian forward Tiffany Stutz led all scorers with 25 points.
