COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Rancho Santiago’s Gordon Strikes Out 18

Celeste Gordon struck out 18 and allowed three hits as Rancho Santiago defeated Skagit Valley (Wash.), 1-0, Monday in a nonconference softball game at Rancho Santiago College.
Tiffany Stanbridge, who had two hits, scored the only run in the second inning. She singled, stole second and third and then scored on a delayed steal when Jennifer Lumley stole second. The Dons are 5-9.
In Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis:
Orange Coast 9, Rancho Santiago 0--Peter Davidson defeated Glenn Sorrallis, 6-0, 6-1, and Richard Montano beat Ken Tuan, 6-2, 6-0, for host Orange Coast (4-4, 2-3).
In Orange Empire Conference golf:
Tracey Fettrow shot a two-over 74 for Saddleback (13-1), which had 395 to win the match at Rancho San Joaquin. San Diego Mesa finished second with 409, followed by Cypress (411) and Golden West (430).
Ken Calvert had a one-under 71 for Orange Coast (11-0), which shot 386 to win the match at Costa Mesa Country Club. Palomar (402) was second, followed by Fullerton (403) and San Diego City (438).
