Rickey Henderson says he is willing to give up the final two years of the four-year, $12-million contract he signed before last season if the Oakland Athletics would offer him salary arbitration.
However, the outfielder said he wants to keep the no-trade clause in his contract, which is a sticking point with the A’s.
“I think there’s a possibility of resolving it in a way that’s acceptable to both sides,” A’s General Manager Sandy Alderson said.
