MISSION VIEJO : Funds Appropriated to Repair Parkway
Several sections of cracked asphalt on one of the city’s busiest roads will be repaired with a $110,000 appropriation the City Council approved last week.
After it received several calls from residents complaining about the condition of Marguerite Parkway near Vista del Lago, the public works staff asked the council to pay for the street repair.
City officials say the asphalt is cracked in several areas, at least in part because of irrigation of landscaping along the street. Marguerite is a major north-south artery through the city.
The work will be done by Hardy and Harper Inc., which has done street maintenance for the city.
The money for the repairs will be taken from allocations in the city’s maintenance contract with the county. Dennis Wilberg, city public works director, said the county was not “able to make the repairs in the time frame that we needed.”
