Pianist Smorodinova to Play at Ambassador
Soviet pianist Irina Smorodinova will make her U.S. debut in two recitals at Ambassador Auditorium, May 23 and 30.
On May 23, her agenda lists Czerny’s “Ricordanza” Variations and 25 Etudes from Opus 740, “Die Kunst der Fingerfertigkeit”; and Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a theme by Corelli, and Five Preludes, Opus 23.
On May 30, the program consists of Czerny’s “Rondo-Passion,” and the other 25 Etudes of his Opus 740; the Second Sonata by Prokofiev, and Liszt’s “Rhapsodie Espagnole.”
