Pilot Dies When Glider Crashes Near Palmdale
A man was killed Sunday when his glider crashed into a peach orchard east of Palmdale, Federal Aviation Administration officials said.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash, Los Angeles County fire officials said. The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. near the Crystalaire Airport, a popular glider port in Llano, officials said.
The incident is being investigated by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
