ABOUT FACE: The county Transit District voted only two weeks ago to increase bus fares for seniors and the disabled to 50 cents during peak hours, 20 cents off-peak. But now county transportation officials say the hike is likely to be rolled back when the OCTD meets today. . . . The reason? Because a hike could violate a pledge by supporters of last year’s half-cent increase in the sales tax, earmarked for transportation. Tax backers then promised to “stabilize” fares for seniors and the disabled.
