World IN BRIEF : HUNGARY : Soviets Complete Military Pullout

Soviet Gen. Viktor Shilov drove home across a border bridge to complete the Soviet army’s withdrawal from Hungary after a 47-year occupation of its former Warsaw Pact ally. Shilov, the last of 100,000 Soviet troops and their families to be evacuated over 15 months, saluted and embraced Hungarian Gen. Antal Annus before returning to Soviet soil.
