Stephen J. Trafton has been named vice chairman and a director of Glenfed Inc. and its subsidiary, Glendale Federal Bank, the company announced.
Trafton, 44, will remain as chief financial officer of Glenfed and Glendale Federal, positions he has held since joining the corporation a year ago, the savings and loan said. Norman M. Coulson, chief executive of the company, said Trafton is the architect of Glenfed’s “strategic plan” to recover from large losses caused by problems with its commercial real estate loans.
