Ju Hee Suh Replaces Pletniev at the Bowl
Ju Hee Suh, the prize-winning, 23-year-old Korean pianist, will replace the originally announced Mikhail Pletniev as soloist in Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Thursday night at 8:30 at Hollywood Bowl.
According to a spokesperson for Pletniev’s management, the Soviet pianist/conductor asked to be released from his contract due to scheduling conflicts in connection with rehearsals for an upcoming tour with the Russian National Orchestra, which he leads.
The rest of the program, to be conducted by John Nelson, consists of Beethoven’s “Prometheus” Overture and Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fantastique.”
