But He Gets Praise for Trashing Angels

Three cheers for Mike Downey’s article on the Angels (Aug. 25). As an ex-Angels fan, I could only laugh and agree with his assessment of the Angels’ embarrassing play and annual futility.
Downey’s proposal of trading every player is a fantastic suggestion. A few 100-loss seasons just might result in a young, talented and exciting club within a few years. Patience does pay off. Just look at the surging Atlanta Braves, who are nearing baseball’s penthouse with a cast of no-names, while the Angels’ veteran millionaires languish in the basement.
