Love Those Plaids: “Forever Plaid,” a musical opening at the Pasadena Playhouse on Sept. 13, has some well-placed fans. President Bush and his wife Barbara have loved the show about a nerdy-but-lovable ‘50s male pop group since they saw it Off-Broadway in New York in July. Last week, the President invited the show’s cast to the summer White House in Kennebunkport, Me., to perform for visiting British Prime Minister John Major and his wife. The cast also got in a little golf and went to a picnic with the Bushes and the Majors. But the “Plaid” crew was used to such schmoozing--they had already been invited to the real White House earlier this summer.
