USC’s 24-10 upset loss to Memphis State Monday at the Coliseum ranks among the school’s most embarrassing defeats.

Other losses in that category are to South Carolina, 38-14, and to Kansas, 26-20, both in 1983; to UCLA, 45-20, in 1970; to Notre Dame, 51-0, in 1966; to Washington, 34-0, in 1960; to Stanford, 35-7, in 1957; to UCLA, 39-0, in 1950; to Ohio State, 33-0, in 1941, and, of course, to Los Angeles High School, 12-0, in 1908.
