The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to extend the moratorium on development along Foothill Boulevard for six months to a year to allow completion of the Foothill Master Plan.
The initial yearlong moratorium was adopted in September, 1990, to stop development while plans were shaped to “make the boulevard more pedestrian friendly and on a village scale,” said Craig A. Ewing, director of Community Development.
Ewing estimated the plan would be completed in less than six months.
The advisory committee is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 in the conference room of the city offices, 1327 Foothill Blvd., to review the plan.
