SIMI VALLEY : Man Was Shot Dead, Coroner Determines
The man whose body was found in the Box Canyon area south of Simi Valley died of multiple gunshot wounds, a spokesman for the Ventura County coroner said Saturday.
Investigators, who are treating the death as a homicide, said they have not identified the man, but he was white, about 6 feet tall and 30 to 40 years old.
The body “was partly skeletonized” when it was discovered about 3 p.m. Friday. A hiker found the partially buried body on a brushy canyon hillside about 200 feet east of Box Canyon Road, according to the coroner’s office.
