The eastbound lanes of California 94 at Lemon Grove Avenue were shut down for 30 minutes Monday while sheriff’s deputies pursued a parolee.
The parolee, identified as Steve Williams, was followed from the E-Z 8 Motel in Lemon Grove onto the highway, where deputies surrounded his car with guns drawn. The California Highway Patrol blocked off traffic starting about 5 p.m.
A spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department said Williams was booked into Central Jail downtown.
