Northwest, Trump End Shuttle Talks: Trump Shuttle Inc. said negotiations with Northwest Airlines about operating the New York-based shuttle have broken down less than a month after the talks began. The Trump Shuttle said both sides agreed to call off the talks after Northwest failed to agree on acceptable terms for a labor pact with the International Assn. of Machinists. But Northwest disputed that claim, saying it all came down to finances. “That (the machinists issue) was a very minor obstacle,” Northwest spokesman Doug Miller said. The shuttle, which formerly belonged to now-defunct Eastern Airlines, flies between New York, Boston and Washington, catering to business travelers.
