FULLERTON : Eyewitness to Coup to Recount Events
Cal State Fullerton political science professor Robert Feldman will offer his eyewitness view of the failed Soviet coup in a campus talk Sept. 30.
Feldman was leading a tour group of Fullerton alumni through the Soviet Union when eight Communist Party leaders seized control of the government Aug. 19. He will recount how he and the group witnessed historic mass demonstrations in Leningrad against the coup leaders, and provide a political scientist’s perspective in his talk, “The Decline and Fall of the Soviet Union: An Eyewitness to History.”
The event, which is public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Mackey Auditorium. A $2 fee will be charged at the door.
Parking for the lecture is $1.50 in lots E and J. Enter the campus at Gymnasium Campus off State College Drive, just north of Nutwood Avenue.
