GRAND STREET. After nine years with Ben Sonnenberg at the helm, Grand Street has changed hands. Jean Stein is the new editor and publisher, and the magazine has a glossier, slicker look. No clear direction has emerged, though among names and pieces one could easily enough find elsewhere there are occasional delightful surprises, such as the portfolio of photographs of famous physicists posed in front of equation-filled blackboards. One to watch.
Grand Street, 135 Central Park West, New York, NY 10023; $8.50 per issue, $24 for four issues.
