City of Industry : Retail Project Advances

The City Council last week tentatively approved a zone change to allow Decker-Warmington Properties to build a retail development north of Puente Hills Mall.
There was no opposition in a hearing Thursday on the change from industrial to commercial zoning for the two-acre site at 1236 Hatcher Ave.
The property is part of a four-acre shopping center to be built just north of the Pomona Freeway.
Construction is scheduled to begin Dec. 1 and the shopping center is expected to open in late summer or early fall of 1992, said Lori Squires, vice president of Decker-Warmington Properties.
The council will make a final decision Oct. 10.
