More than 25,000 books, including rare and unusual publications, will be up for sale at the San Buenaventura Friends of the Library’s 23rd annual used book sale and auction this weekend.
The silent auction, hosted by radio personality Ross Olney, will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The sale, to be held in the San Buenaventura Mall parking lot adjoining Mills Road, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Publications to be sold include a 50-volume set of the world’s greatest classics, a signed and boxed set of Richard Nixon’s memoirs and a first edition of Stephen King’s “The Dead Zone.”
The group, which made $20,782 at last year’s event and through periodic mini-sales, hopes to top $25,000 this year. All money raised this year will fund activities, and purchase materials and specialty books for the E. P. Foster, Helen Wright, Avenue and Saticoy libraries.
