23-Month-Old Girl Drowns in Anaheim

ANAHEIM — A 23-month-old girl who apparently wandered from her bed was found floating in her swimming pool Monday, becoming at least the seventh child to drown in Orange County this year.
Police Officer Joe Karns said a 911 call came in shortly after 4 p.m. reporting a possible drowning on North Laguna Street. The call was relayed to the Fire Department, where the caller was given instructions on cardiopulmonary resuscitation over the phone, Karns said.
The victim, Cindy Vu, “was in full arrest . . . not breathing and had no pulse” when paramedics arrived, said Anaheim Fire Department spokesman Jonathan Wilkes. Paramedics attempted to revive the child.
