WHO’S AWAKE? Keeping up with the complicated criminal fraud trial of Charles H. Keating Jr. has been a challenge for all concerned. On Monday, however, it was the judge, not the jury, who got lost. . . . Judge Lance Ito stopped the questioning of a witness to clarify a point about Keating’s Irvine-based Lincoln Savings & Loan, ending with, “or am I confused?” From the jury box came the resounding reply: “Yes!” Later, the judge told lawyers, “Half the jurors gave me the are-you-nuts look.”
