COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Bowen, Ward Stand Out in Titan Scrimmage

Junior forward Bruce Bowen scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and senior forward Agee Ward added 23 points during Cal State Fullerton’s Blue-Orange scrimmage Friday night in Titan Gym.
Fullerton Coach John Sneed tried to balance the teams in the first half, and the blue team led, 48-36, at halftime. Sneed then moved most of his top players to the blue team in the second half, and they ran away for a 108-67 victory.
Kim Kemp, a junior center from San Jose City College, scored 22 points and senior guard Joe Small added 19.
In nonconference women’s soccer:
UC Irvine 2, San Diego State 1--Freshman Shawna Berke scored both goals for visiting Irvine (12-6-1).
In California Collegiate Athletic Assn. men’s soccer:
Cal State San Bernardino 3, Chapman 0--Scott Miller had 11 saves for host Chapman (6-10-3, 2-5-2), which lost after San Bernardino scored three second-half goals.
In nonconference men’s soccer:
Southern California College 5, Menlo 1--Carlos Miramontes scored two goals to lead host SCC (8-10-1).
In California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s soccer:
Cal State San Bernardino 5, Chapman 2--In her final collegiate game, Chapman’s Stasi Dimassis scored the first and last goals, but the visiting Coyotes scored five goals in between.
