Matthew Rapf, 71; TV, Film Producer

Matthew Rapf, producer of such television series as “The Loretta Young Show,” “Ben Casey,” and “Kojak,” died Wednesday at the age of 71.
Rapf had been suffering from the flu, and died in his sleep at his Malibu home, publicist Miriam Levin said.
He worked in film as well as television, writing or producing such movies as “Desperate Search,” “Big Leaguer” and “Half a Hero.”
Rapf is survived by his wife, Carol;, four sons, James, Steven, Harry and Matthew; two stepsons, David and Timothy Weil, a brother and eight grandchildren.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary, 6001 Centinela Ave., Los Angeles.
