6 Arrested in Carson Burglaries
Sheriff’s deputies and Los Angeles Unified School District police have arrested six Carson men in connection with as many as 34 burglaries at a dozen Carson campuses since early October, authorities said Tuesday.
The men were arrested last week and charged with burglary and receiving stolen property after detectives served search warrants at several locations throughout Carson, said Sgt. Richard Davidson of the Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities recovered about a third of the $30,000 worth of computers, televisions, videocassette recorders and other equipment that had been stolen during repeated break-ins at elementary, junior and senior high schools, Davidson said. Carson High School had been burglarized eight times.
Among those booked on the felony charges were William Yohe, 21; Leifitoto Faatiliga, 32; Christopher Gonsalves, 20; Daniel Faneuf, 33, and Punaofo Tilei, 33, Davidson said. The name of the sixth suspect was not available.
