Fisher Reinstated at CSUN; Cassidy May Alter Lineup
Cal State Northridge basketball center Percy Fisher, suspended indefinitely last week for violating unspecified team rules, was reinstated Thursday, Coach Pete Cassidy said.
Fisher, a 6-foot-7, 216-pound junior who is averaging 8.0 points and 6.1 rebounds a game, will be available Saturday night against visiting Eastern Washington but will not start.
Cassidy would not discuss the details of the suspension. On Tuesday, Fisher said the suspension involved “a lot of little things.”
“Basically I thought about myself more than the team,” he said.
Northridge (0-10) returned from a three-day break Thursday, and players held a meeting for nearly an hour before practice.
In an effort to improve a struggling offense, Cassidy said that he expects to make lineup changes. No starter has scored in double figures in the past four games.
“I think we might try to give other people a chance to get their shots,” said Cassidy, who did not divulge his starting lineup.
