Instructional Aide Is Honored

Eva Ramirez has received the Paraprofessional of the Year award from the California Assn. for Bilingual Education.
She has been an instructional aide at the Alhambra City and High School Districts’ English as a Second Language program since 1978.
She also has served as a PTA president at Alhambra High School and Granada Elementary School and as a committee member of Granada’s bilingual education advisory board.
* Joe Dishanni, executive director of the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to the county Commission on Insurance.
Dishanni, former owner of a collision repair shop, has served 10 years on the county Highway Safety Commission.
