RARE VISIT: It was 24 years ago that Dr. King flew to Orange County in the midst of events that culminated in his assassination. He interrupted his support for garbage workers in Memphis, Tenn., to speak to the California Democratic State Council in Anaheim on March 16, 1968. . . . He immediately returned to Memphis, where he was assassinated three weeks later.
