A sheriff’s deputy was injured early Wednesday in a struggle with a parolee he was trying to arrest, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
Deputy Robert Luke suffered a broken wrist after he and another deputy spotted Benjamin Currin, 33, seemingly intoxicated while walking on the 1800 block of Vista Way shortly after midnight. A struggle followed when the deputies attempted to handcuff him, the spokesman said.
Currin is being held on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and assaulting a peace officer causing injury.
