Glendale : Delay on Auto Row Plan
The Planning Commission on Monday delayed action until March 9 on a proposal to control growth of the city’s auto row along South Brand Boulevard.
The postponement will give time for additional discussions between dealers who seek expansion and residents opposed to increased commercial development. Assistant Planning Director James Glazer said the two sides are nearing agreement.
After years of debate, city planners have suggested that dealers be allowed to build office and storage buildings up to six stories high, twice the height now permitted.
The March 9 meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 613 E. Broadway.
