Ticket holders for the canceled April 23 concert by conductor Simon Rattle and the City of Birmingham Symphony will receive refunds if another orchestra cannot be scheduled in time to replace it, according to officials of the sponsoring Orange County Philharmonic Society. The Birmingham Symphony canceled the West Coast leg of its 1992 tour Friday because of financial problems. Information: (714) 553-2422.
The Way Off Broadway Playhouse in Santa Ana has announced its 1992 season: Y. York’s “Rain. Some Fish. No Elephants” (March 6 to May 17); Richard Greenberg’s “Eastern Standard” (June 12 to Aug. 15); Constance Congdon’s “Tales of the Lost Formicans” (Sept. 18 to Nov. 8); and Richard Dresser’s “Better Days” (Nov. 27 to January, 1993).
