PREP ROUNDUP : Roberts Breaks His 100 Breaststroke Record at Los Alamitos
Eric Roberts swam the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute .90 seconds, breaking his school record, as Los Alamitos defeated Mater Dei, 107-63, in a nonleague swim meet Wednesday at Los Alamitos.
David Michaels (200-yard freestyle, 100 backstroke) and Dan Lupash (100 freestyle, 200 individual medley) were double winners for the Griffins, who won 10 of the 11 races.

Softball--Westminster’s opponent in a nonleague girls’ softball game was incorrectly reported Thursday. Westminster defeated Estancia, 12-0.
Mater Dei won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:38.15 to avoid the sweep.
In other nonleague boys’ swimming meets:
Capistrano Valley 110, Trabuco Hills 60--Capistrano Valley’s Scott Spencer won the 100 backstroke in 55.75, qualifying him for the Southern Section championships.
Santa Margarita 96, Laguna Beach 70--Jason Krusiewicz won two individual events and swam a leg on Santa Margarita’s victorious 200 medley relay team.
Servite 83, Brea-Olinda 76--Tim Bostrom and Bill Brown each qualified for the section championships in two individual and two relay events. Bostrom won the 100 butterfly in 54.60 and the 500 freestyle in 4:54.58 and helped the winning 200 medley (1:47.20) and 200 freestyle relay teams (1:35.20). Brown won the 50 freestyle (22.22) and the 100 freestyle (49.98) and helped the winning relay teams.
In nonleague girls’ swimming:
Capistrano Valley 107, Trabuco Hills 62--Freshmen Jeannine Povey, Cathy Carone and Tracey McCalley each won two events for Capistrano Valley. Povey won the 100 and 200 freestyles, Carone won the 50 free and the 100 backstroke, and McCalley won the 200 medley and the 100 butterfly.
Mater Dei 115, Los Alamitos 55--Jennifer Antimarino and Adrienne Paradise each won two events for the visiting Monarchs.
Santa Margarita 108, Laguna Beach 47--Lisa Henningfen won the 200 medley and 100 butterfly.
In nonleague softball:
Edison 6, Los Amigos 4--Edison (2-2) rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh. Jenna Biefeld tripled to drive in the first run and Dru Obade doubled in Biefeld to tie the score. Amy Hulbrock followed with a single to drive in Obade with the winning run.
Orange 11, Costa Mesa 6--Cori Stroud (4-0) pitched a three-hitter and struck out 10 for the visiting Panthers (6-2).
Westminster 12, Esperanza 0--Lisa Robinett pitched a one-hitter, striking out eight, in a game shortened to five innings because of the mercy rule.
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
Estancia 15, Savanna 3--Rob Horansky swept in singles (6-4, 6-0, 6-0) for the host Eagles (4-3).
La Quinta 17, Mater Dei 1--Bach Nguyen didn’t lose a game as the Aztecs (6-0) remained undefeated.
Marina 11, Irvine 7--Christian Butala, Austin Harris and Noel Zosa swept their singles sets for Marina (9-0).
Western 11, Cypress 7--James Yu and Anand Jethva each had singles sweeps as the Pioneers improved to 6-1.
In nonleague golf:
Fountain Valley 439, Mission Viejo 474--Fountain Valley’s Jason Maga shot par 36 for nine holes at Mile Square and his four-over 80 was the low score in the match that started Tuesday at Mission Viejo Country Club.
Trabuco Hills 381, Valencia 444--Mark Mignone, Mark Christensen and Zachary Allen shot 73, 74 and 75, respectively, for Trabuco Hills (4-0) at Coto de Caza and Alta Vista country clubs.
El Toro 385, Woodbridge 445--Brian Voytovich shot three-over 75 for El Toro (6-0) at El Toro Marine Base.
In Garden Grove League boys’ volleyball:
Garden Grove 3, Kennedy 0--Mike Herrera had 14 kills for the Argonauts.
La Quinta 3, Los Amigos 0--Sam Barbee had 11 kills, Brad Huss added 10 and Kevin Doane nine for host La Quinta (2-1, 1-0), which won, 15-7, 15-12, 15-13.
Pacifica 3, Rancho Alamitos 0--Jim Green had 10 kills for Pacifica (3-2, 1-0), which won 15-9, 17-15, 15-8. Teofil Tifrea had 14 kills for Rancho Alamitos.
Santiago 3, Bolsa Grande 1--Minh Nguyen had eight kills for the host Cavaliers (3-2, 1-0).
In Sunset League boys’ volleyball:
Huntington Beach 3, Ocean View 0--Shadd Walker had 12 kills for Huntington Beach in a 15-3, 15-4, 15-8 victory.
