A car that witnesses said ran a red light collided with a Metro Blue Line train in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, injuring a woman and her two young daughters, according to a spokesman for the Southern California Rapid Transit District.
“Numerous witnesses reported that the car drove westbound through a red light on Venice Boulevard at Flower Street” about 8 a.m., said RTD spokesman Greg Davy.
The car’s driver, Woodchild Nadlangvayam, 35, was in serious condition at County-USC Medical Center with a head injury. Her 5-year-old daughter was treated and released, said a hospital spokeswoman. Czierhl Nadlangvayam, 3, was in good condition with a possible skull fracture at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, said a hospital spokesman.
